Fellgate has started a wide variety of clubs which run most week days throughout the school year. Here are some of the clubs that our children attend in our lunch time and after school clubs.

Fellgate Before School and Lunch Time Clubs

Football club, KS2 train every Monday after school. They are put through their paces by our external sports coaches. In addition to this we also run football every lunch time allowing both KS1 and KS2 to develop their skills and enjoy the game.

Cardio Combat – is an action-packed combination of fitness training that fuses stamina, strength, flexibility, with basic Ju Jitsu and Kickboxing techniques. These are performed on a mix of focus mits, boxing gloves, kick shields and a partner. Using these skills with disciplined techniques we will help your child gain valuable self-confidence and self-esteem while having fun!

The goals of the program are to:

  • Strengthen your child’s ability to focus
  • Improve your child’s school performance through practiced attention skills
  • Build individual confidence
  • Enhance listening skills and recall memory
  • Perpetuate discipline and respect
  • Improve motor and sensory skills
  • Introduce Basic Self-Defence

Cookery Club – In Cookery Club we will be making and preparing a range of tasty treats. At the minute we don’t have access to a cooker so we will be making no-bake recipes which will still be great fun. As well as making some lovely food we also be learning about kitchen safety and good hygiene practice. Cookery Club promotes confidence, independence and cooperation as well as learning a range of useful skills.

Lego Club – Working in groups of up to 3, the children develop turn taking and team building skills as well as developing skills in listening, attention, reading and following instructions and enhancement of vocabulary. They also learn to transfer skills from other areas of the curriculum, such as maths (using times tables to count the number of studs on large pieces of Lego).

While the Engineer reads and delivers instructions to the Supplier and Builder, the Supplier must find the right pieces and hand them safely to the Builder who, in turn, then listens to the instructions and adds them to the model.

Lego Club is a great way to have fun with friends while leading to a sense of achievement and team work when finishing a model!
